Traditional Japanese inns recently ran an article about how tourists in Japan are discovering the joys of staying in a traditional Japanese ryokan (inn). The airy rooms, wooden structure, large baths, lush gardens, and attentive service are a welcome change from the cramped rooms, concrete-and-steel structures, and aloof feel of modern hotels.
